Calcium Alginate Dressing is a soft, white, sterile dressing which absorbs moderate to large amounts of wound drainage and may help control minor bleeding. Alginate ropes can be used to fill or pack the dead space in a wound. It has the ability to gel upon contact with wound fluids. Allows easy and trauma-free removal. Maintains a moist wound environment. Conducive to wound healing. Secondary dressing is needed to hold alginates in place and protect the wound from outside contaminants.

Alginate Dressing is a type of fibrous dressing made of 100% polymer material (alginate).This alginate dressing is medical dressing with high absorption property.The silver-impregnated calcium alginate fibres, when in contact with wound exudate or blood, form a gel which creates a moist wound healing environment. The silver in the wound dressing has an antimicrobial effect upon various types of microorganisms including Staphylococcus Aureus and Escherichia Coli. Calcium Alginate Dressings with Antimicrobial Silver are sterilized and must not be re-sterilized. The products are sterile unless the package is opened or damaged.Silvercel Dressing.

Instructions for use

• Carefully clean the wound and its surrounding area with sterile water or saline solution and dry the surrounding skin gently.
• Select the right size of dressing for the wound area. Carefully open the sterile pouch to remove the dressing inside.Alginate Ag Silver Dressing
• A secondary dressing is necessary when using calcium alginates. If needed, cut the tape and dressing using sterile scissors. 
• Dampen dressing with sterile water or saline solution to avoid damaging the surrounding skin, then secure it to the wound area.
